"K5 MORE"
Continued from "HELP k5"... &0fItem Crafting and Material Refining &02There's a whole system for finding, harvesting, refining, and crafting materials that you use PRACTICE SESSIONS to improve. The quality of the final object depends on the quality of the raw and refined materials used to make it as well as the skill rank of the item crafter. For example, you might SKIN a corpse - the quality of the resulting hide will be based on the level and type of mob as well as the skill rank of your SKINNING ability. Then you can TAN the hide into leather using some tanning equipment (an object in the game) - the resulting leather quality will be based on the quality of the hide, the quality of the tanning equipment and your skill level in TANNING. Then you can craft the leather into armor - the resulting armor quality will be based on the quality of the leather, the equipment used, and the ARMOR CRAFTING skill. The quality also has a random element all along the way so you can sometimes get lucky or unlucky. &0fAutomated Auction Channel &02Place items in the auction system along with a minimum bid and it will be sold through the automated auction system. Or use the barter channel for doing things the old fashioned way. &0fAutomated Tasks &02Object hunt tasks happen automatically now (random frequency). &0fQuest Points &02You can earn quest points for killing "boss" mobs higher level than you (or your group). It's random and encourages finishing hard zones. &0fDamage Numbers &02Toggleable option to show damage explicitly: You throw a fireball at Xavious the Wizard, enveloping him in flames. (286 damage) You massacre Xavious the Wizard with your slash. (29 damage) &0fRanged Comat &02It's improved, it's awesome. Bows and spells both used ranged combat. &0fSpell Aliases &02The intent is for all spells to have simpler usage. "fireball zombie" instead of "cast 'fireball' zombie". It's in for some, and eventually for all spells. This is toggleable. &0fSpell Affects &02Spells indicate how effective they are: You feel magically strong. (6) Which means you are getting +6 strength from that spell affect. &0fAC Inverted &02For the sake of simplicity, higher AC is better. Simple as that. &0fGroup Gold Splitting &02Toggleable option "LevelSplit" allows you to toggle the gold splitting proportionally based on level of group members. &0fFormations &02Are in. Mobs have a chance to hit different people in the group based on formation settings. See FORM, FORMTEST, and REFORM. &0fBehind the Scenes &02After a great deal of updating (*pant*), the MUD code is compatible with a more modern compiler - producing a faster executable, smaller memory footprint, and quicker compiling. We also get access to some new feature that make coding and debugging easier. More importantly, the game data structures are much more expandable for future growth. We used to be hindered by static file restrictions making addition of certain new features difficult or impossible. Things are much more extensible now. &0fHappy mudding!!!&02 See Also: K5
